About the Author

 
Takayuki Ishii (石井孝之) was born in Tokyo.  He was ordained as a Christian minister and received a Master of Divinity degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. He is a graduate of Meiji Gakuin University (明治学院大学) in Tokyo.  
 
Almost 40 years of active ministry, he pastored Golden Hill United Methodist Church in Bridgeport, CT; First and Summerfield United Methodist Church in New Haven, CT; Metropolitan-Duane United Methodist Church in New York City, (currently named the Church of the Village); he also pastored as a bilingual pastor at the Japanese Congregational Church in Fresno, California, now known as the United Japanese Christian Church in Clovis, California. 
  
Currently, Rev. Ishii is actively involved in Peace and Justice works in the United States and abroad.  When available, he accepts speaking and preaching engagements.  He is a member of the The Author's Guild, Inc.
